Robert Davis - Principal

Mr. Davis was educated in architecture, lighting and scenic design. He received the Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University in 1971, apprenticed to lighting designers Jules Fisher, Beverly Emmons and Marc Weiss, and to scenic designers Robin Wagner, Sean Kenny and David Chapman.

Mr. Davis was director of theater consulting services for Jules Fisher Associates where he developed the organization's staff, resources, and capabilities while consulting on over one hundred theaters in the US and abroad. He opened his own theater consulting firm, Robert Davis Inc., in 1984.

In addition to theater consulting Mr. Davis is an architectural and theatrical lighting designer.

Mr. Davis is a founding member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants, a member of the I.E.S. and its TTFL committee, and a lighting member of the United Scenic Artists Local 829. For the U.S.I.T.T. Mr. Davis chaired the committee on standards for equipment performance and authored the standard test for efficiency of rigging equipment. His technical articles have appeared in the I.E.S. Journal, the U.S.I.T.T. Journal, Theatre Crafts Magazine, Lighting Dimensions Magazine, and International Lighting Review.

Mr. Davis' experience includes inventing new stage equipment and special effects, including the largest snow effect ever made for a live audience.

Mr. Davis received certificates in Parisian Bread in 2007 and Artisanal Bread in 2008 from the French Culinary Institute in New York.
